GOAL
The Department of Information Technologies continues to work with determination and determination in the field of Informatics of our University by following the developing technological developments. Computer Center Our university provides services in the fields of Internet, Web, Network, System Support, Software development, Education and R&D. To implement information technologies at the highest level at Erciyes University and to ensure the widespread availability of these technologies. With the rapidly increasing number of students and staff, it is at the forefront in terms of the level of application of computer technologies, to meet the needs of software, hardware and other information services needed and to ensure their continuity, to carry out activities to improve the number of computers, network and internet infrastructure, to create specialized staff for these works. To take part in and to be a preferred University in this regard.

ESTABLISHMENT
Our Department started its activities in 1985 with 2 personnel. In the information sector, which was very new in 1985, Mac and PC-based computers, mainframe systems and software with small applications started to be written, and as of 1994, the first Internet connection was provided at 9600 bps. In 1996, our 19200 bps Lised line internet line was put into use over METU. With the 128 Kbps Frame Relay connection provided by ULAKBİM as of 1998, it is a turning point within the scope of structural and technological developments in the Information Processing Center of our university. During this time, extensive studies were carried out in the areas of structured cabling, Network active devices and management, system security, mail, web, software development throughout the structural university. In the first days of 2002, our 2 Mbps Internet connection speed has now reached 500 Mbps. Internet infrastructure service is provided in our institutes, faculties, colleges and units. With a project carried out in 2009, our chassis connection, located in the central internet and local network backbone, was changed to redundant and load sharing. The Erciyes University network provides service with more than 30000 active terminals. 160,000 of our users can benefit from the mail service. Comprehensive information about our University is presented online by using web technology, which is an invariable promotional tool of today, and our Faculty, Schools and Institutes introduce themselves on their websites. Payroll, Personnel, Student Affairs automation has been activated.
